MEP Consulting LLC Receives 2011 Best of Portland Award
U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement
NEW YORK, NY, December 16, 2010 -- MEP Consulting LLC has been selected for the 2011 Best of Portland Award in the Consulting Engineers category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).
The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2011 USCA Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

Project Update
MEP Consulting LLC has been busy working on some new restaurants here in Oregon in addition to the McCormick & Schmick’s we have completed throughout the USA. Watch for the new pool, spa and conference facility at the Bonneville Hot Springs Resort & Spa in North Bonneville, Washington. Recent food service project to note ZOE Yogurt in Seattle, BlissBerry Yogurt, SOFun Yogurt, YoRocks Yogurt and Luck Spoon Yogurt, in Portland. Architectural is being done by MulvannyG2 Architects.
We are also pleased to report the addition of a new client to our growing list. We were approached to provide engineering and design for their new Gigantic Brewery located in SE Portland. Architectural will be done by Steelhead Architecture. Another LEED-NC Platinum project is the CYRK Building. This building consists of a mixed-use building located at the corner of SE 20th Ave and SE Clinton St. in Portland, Oregon.
Mechanical Energy efficient measure implemented by MEP include the use of The ground/water source heat pump system is capable of simultaneous heating/cooling and has individual operation of each indoor unit. The systems uses of a condenser water loop to each water source heat pump and a geothermal ground water well system that runs through a heat exchanger and disperses the water into an underground aquifer.The main condenser loop serving the heat pumps is activated when any zone calls for heating or cooling. The geothermal aquifer systems well pump is on a VFD that modulates from off, to low, then to high speed to maintain 65 deg. F in the condenser loop.As a result, efficient individual heating and cooling is possible in this building which has diverse room temperatures.
Plumbing efficient measures include Solar hot water panels to assist the building hot water system. A separate hot water heater will be provided for the recycled storm water use in the laundry room. And a reduction in water usage use by 40%.
